I have grown up in Hove, sandwiched between the South Downs and the sea. This landscape has influenced my development as an artist.
Sea swimming has given me a unique perspective of Hove. Swim buoys are a static reference point in the ever-changing elements of the sea. A yellow sphere that reflects the waves, the sky and the land.
The South Downs provide a very contrasting view. The sea is cast in the distance behind the city and cascade of rolling hills.
My work harnesses the motion and feeling of a landscape. It’s impulsively dictated by my day-to-day experiences of Sussex.
