Living in Eastbourne, I am a visual artist working with sacred geometry and Islamic pattern. I work with watercolour, frequently from hand made natural minerals, and often inspired by the colours of the sea. I also love gold which adds to the richness of the pattern. I am fascinated by the symbolism and the underlying divine order of number that is contained within these patterns. It still blows my mind that every single pattern starts with one compass point and a circle. All my work is hand-drawn with compass and ruler, sometimes freehand. The ruler is purely to draw straight lines as all measures are taken by the compass. I never use a computer.
The process is deeply contemplative and the integral harmony of each piece calls deeply to the viewer.
