The Hinterland Studio is the home of East Sussex based artist Emma Donovan’s pen & ink botanical paintings and paper art installations. Inspired by the incidental and clashing patterns found in nature and by a love of beachcombing & botanical forms.
Emma’s process involves deconstructing pen and ink, pigment and watercolour paintings before reconstructing them into unique layered, sculptural paper forms and hangings. Emma also creates smaller bold watercolour artworks, artisan gifts and a selection of greetings cards and gifts that reflect the style of her original work. She sells and shows across Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Bucks.
