My work is linocut prints and papercut art.
A book designer in my day job, and with a background also in poster art, my artwork tends to have a graphic sensibility and a sense of narrative. I enjoy working with typography, and my inspiration is often favourite places and stories – especially ones with a touch of the spooky or eerie.
In my papercut art, I enjoy cutting fine detail into layers of card, which is then arranged in layers in deep frames to create scenes that draw in the eye and imagination.
A recent project comes in the form of shelf art – little wooden houses containing papercut ghosts haunting papercut scenes.
I am also working intensely on linocut work at the moment, with several new designs in the works.
I am a veteren of the Open Houses, as I was involved in an Open House on the Seven Dials trail for several years.
