An exhibitor in the Brighton AOH festival for 20+ years as a member of the Fiveways Artists Group. I now live in Lewes.
My recent paintings and prints (acrylic on paper or canvas) explore the energy and vibrant colour of road cycling and the professional peloton. With image sizes up to 1m square, they create a big impact. Smaller works are in watercolour on paper. To date, one of the large canvas will be available as a giclee print (full size and smaller scale). Additionally I experiment with the visual impact of moving rhythm of cyclists in Cyanotype prints. The portfolio of work is inspired by the thrill of cycling (both as participant and spectator) and is not a recreation of a photographic image.
Other work includes colourful paintings inspired by travels including to Morocco, Italy, Barcelona, Peru, coastal areas, harbours and boats. In contrast I have produced a series of dramatic mono-chrome images inspired by the Isle of Lewis chess figures.
