Artist’s description

My work is inspired by the natural world, particularly the wildlife, plants and landscapes of Sussex. I create lino prints  exploring the character and movement of birds, mammals and botanical forms.

As a Forest School teacher as well as an artist , I spend much of my time outdoors and this close connection with nature is central to my creative practice. I am particularly interested in capturing the personality of animals through expressive eyes, movement and detailed mark-making, while combining them with natural forms to create a sense of place and story.

My prints range from small A5 limited editions to larger A3 works, all hand carved and individually printed. I use both traditional black-and-white imagery and selective colour, experimenting with techniques such as jigsaw printing and hand-painted watercolour details.

I work from my Sussex studio, producing small limited editions on quality and handmade papers. My aim is to create distinctive, accessible pieces of nature-inspired art that encourage a connection with the wildlife and wild places around us.
