I am an impressionist painter inspired by the beauty of everyday objects and scenes, contrast and differences, hidden corners and quiet spaces. I love the deep blue and twilight purples of the shadows and the temptation of something just round the corner. My watercolours are mostly birds and seascapes against a metal leaf background. By contrast my illustrated maps are extremely detailed, I draw these in the dark days of winter listening to the rain and the radio.
