My work, which I call Pop-Trash, is a direct response to pop culture. It is an amalgamation of street art, pop art, and graffiti, and it embraces a rough, disposable nature. The “pop” comes from the recognizable imagery of popular culture, while the “trash” refers to the raw, transient quality of street art—work that is pasted, painted, and torn down on the street. I synthesize these styles using a combination of print, stencil, and freehand techniques. My subject matter ranges from familiar, logo-oriented designs to more abstract compositions built through layering and pattern, reflecting the duality of my practice.
