Working primarily with collage, I aim to depict the more desolate and isolated aspects of the Sussex Landscape. I am drawn to disused buildings, radio masts, old boats and fishing shacks for subject matter.
For source materials, I prefer to use recycled magazines, food packaging, aged card and paper to make my work because of the range of pure colour and muted tones that I can position or offset to generate the feeling of the elements and changing light.
The results of tearing, cutting, peeling and sticking give the finished work a textured surface that often resonates other themes through the random nature of words and numbers from print media that end up in the frame.
