My work is focused upon landscapes that offer different pathways and directions, in my choice of subject I explore how an atmosphere of a place can be transformed by the position it’s viewed from.
Within this context I incorporate man-made objects as metaphors, witnessing what can influence our choices as human beings, where we are challenged with exploring and moving forwards through time, places and other experiences.
I considered how natural light effects and darkness contribute and create a visual insight in the images. I develop my work into triptych and diptych scenes to suggest the different psychological directions that the human mind can be drawn into. Often experiencing this upon journeys myself I believe places can impact upon the human mind, directing our thoughts and decisions. Our surroundings can also create memories, helping us to reflect on past and present experiences.
