I am a trained textile designer based in Rottingdean. I have fifteen years experience working in the fashion industry, designing prints and woven textiles. I currently work on a textile course in Brighton part time, plus I design my own range of textiles and sell them at local craft fairs.
My work is made by designing graphic patterns which start life in my sketch book. I print my patterns onto homeware, gifts and accessories. My work has a vintage, art deco feel and often comes bright colours. My patterns are inspired by everything I see around me, whether it be a sketch from nature, a certain colour palette, or an inspiring landscape, or landmark. I like to stretch ideas out first and then scan them into the computer and put them into repeat and manipulate them with design software, such as Procreate, Illustrator and Photoshop.
My work has been described as fun, bright and joyful, so I’m hoping to find a place in an open house this winter where it will fit in. It will be my first time displaying in an open house.
Look forward to hearing from you! 🙂
