Colour and line in abstract and disrupted reality is the main focus of my work, with landscape and seascape a typical inspiration but pots of plants and vases of flowers often appear as well. I mainly paint in acrylics on different surfaces – wood, paper, canvas board or canvas – but I prefer wood as it allows me to experiment with textures and mixed media more successfully. My paintings vary in size from 15 cm to 60 cm (mostly square format) but that’s just down to space limitations! I live in Brighton and work in a small conservatory off the kitchen.
