I am an Abstract printmaker and artist who is interested in a Japanese philosophy known as Wabi-sabi which is all about embracing imperfections and accepting the transient nature of life. I have taken inspiration from graffiti on layers of posters where the layers have been destructively torn away by the environment of wind, rain and heat, and I have tried to replicate this partial destruction within my work.
Through layering and fragmentation, as well as burning away areas through laser etching, and the use of shadows and floating levels, I aim for my 2d prints to appear in a 3 dimensional way.
