My photographic practice explores interconnectedness through both process and perception. I combine multiple exposures of flowers into single, hyper-detailed compositions that exceed the limits of human vision. The resulting images occupy an ambiguous space between photography and painting.
In several works, floral forms take on anthropomorphic or narrative qualities. Two photographed poppies, for instance, appear to assume the posture of a ballet dancer. This transformation is not staged or imposed but arises organically through the process.
Due to the accuracy and perfection required by my lense I grow the flowers purposfully on my flower field, working each year with expersts all over the world. This winter Rare and Heritage Tulips are in my ground kindly gifted after visiting Eric Breed the holder of the rarest collection of tulis in Europe.
