My images are created from photographs of iconic Brighton features such as the Pavilion, Brighton Museum and Art gallery, Brighton Pier and Brighton street art as well as florals and bespoke commissions. Like a great remix of a favourite song, my colourful visual remixes keep the essence of the original photograph but morph it into something unusual and captivating by a process called hyperbolic tiling. I start by taking photographs of things I love, then isolate a geometric section of it which I repeat and reflect, in ever diminishing size, stitching each repeat together until a circle is created. The effect is similar to looking through a kaleidoscope. I make them into high quality 30x30cm framed prints (white frames) as well as 15x15cm greetings cards. Greetings cards are all presented in compostable cellophane covers and are currently available from IO Gallery in Sydney Street.
