I have been drawing all my life and the process, requiring careful concentration, is very important to me and often quite meditative. I aim to capture detail focusing on light, dark and contrast to eliminate line and then I can add colour. Most recently I have been drawing animals, both whimsical and realistic as well as other narrative illustrations. I’d like to exhibit a mixture of this work and some pet portraits.
Another part of my creative practice is using cardboard to make detailed scenes and objects or characters. I photograph these, playing with light, to create contrast and shadow.
In other work, I am art therapy trained and I run creative workshops in the community.
