Artist’s description

Shoreham based glass artist, Louise V Durham is known for her vibrant glass and reclaimed hardwood sculptures. She creates work that celebrates light in all its forms. Her art invites us to step into the light—to recognise the light within ourselves and to try to live our lives from this place.

Deeply inspired by the natural world, Louise’s work reflects a reverence for its quiet miracles and enduring beauty. The rainbow, a recurring motif in her practice, symbolises wholeness and the magic that occurs when contrasts—like sun and rain—coexist in harmony. Through this, she gently asks: what might our world look like if humanity embraced its full spectrum in the same way?

Through her work over the last two decades, Louise has explored the healing potential of light and colour. She celebrates individuality, crafting each piece as an expression of the joy and richness of being uniquely human. Often working on a commission basis, Louise creates pieces that honour and commemorate life’s most meaningful moments and the people—both living and departed—who make them unforgettable.

She is also often commissioned to make windows for the home and has a small range of indoor lighting, luminous art pieces designed to radiate pure joy into any space.
