I aim to evoke emotions with my artworks, often communicated through themes of pain and protection. I focus on the subject of animals, particularly dogs, as they tend to spark empathy, tug on the heart strings and therefore evoke stronger emotions.
We all go through hardships in life, so I want to create art that resonates with people, showing they aren’t alone and that we all go through sh*t. I visualise these traumas/difficulties either through the visual depiction of pain on the animal. Or rather as the result of hardship, painting a much needed protective figure.
This brings me to the theme of protection; I want to provide a symbol of strength, a loyal being to look over you, protect your energy and your space. In this theme my artworks range from bold and dark with a strong dog breed (such as a Doberman) OR as a light, gentle, loving being that brings a softness into the space, (with breeds such as the Lurcher or Greyhound).
