I started taking photographs during a difficult period in my life a few years ago. Photography became a way to pause and find space. For once, I felt present and that I could hold still for a moment.
I started to shoot predominantly in black and white and found myself drawn to dramatic skies, landscapes, architecture and the silhouettes of individuals within them. I believe the best camera is often the one nearest to you, so my photographs are taken using everything from a phone to 35mm film and digital cameras. I often don’t set out to create a particular image. Instead, I am interested in moments of noticing: people, places, light and the ordinary.
I work and live in Brighton and Hove and Artists Open Houses would be my first opportunity to exhibit my photography. I would be so thrilled to take part and collaborate with you. Thank you for looking, Rhianne
