Specialising in wet felted art, Tracy works primarily with Merino wool and a variety of silks. She is inspired by landscapes, particularly the Sussex coast and the woods and countryside of Oxfordshire.
She is a self taught artist who continues to develop her skills, learning through online courses with professional artists, as well as honing her own techniques.
There are a number of stages in the production of her work. Once she has created the image in fibre, it is wet felted in hot water with olive oil soap.
Once dry, she uses fine needle felting to make adjustments and then irons and backs the work with interfacing. This is then enhanced and completed with a mixture of machine and hand stitched details.
Her art is also available as giclee prints.
