I am a self taught artist who paints, sculpts and hand builds in clay. I have been making work for 25 years, and some of it has been selected for various competitions at venues such as the Mall Galleries, London.
My aim in making art work, is to try and say something that resonates. Sometimes my work can invoke feelings of dissonance or disturbance, and this is aimed at provoking different thoughts in the viewer. The themes often concern people and animals, and how they relate and are situated.
My influences include Goya, Velazquez, Brancusi, German Expressionism and Manet. They also include more contemporary artists such as Sydney Nolan, Leonora Carrington, Eileen Agar, Paula Rego, Noah David, Peter Doig and Kerry Marshall.
