I make distinctive ceramic characters all with an interesting back story and a tale to tell. My work begins with detailed sketches of characters that inspire me. While invented through my imagination, they often feel familiar. The sort of interesting people we’ve all met throughout our lives. I develop their personalities through expression, posture and detail. Finished with underglazes, each figure inhabits its own little world and arrives with a story that’s pulls the viewer in.
