I make sculptural pieces which reflect a whimsical take on the everyday. Everyday moments, people, thoughts, and memories – magical, emotive and charismatic. Working intuitively with a wide variety of materials such as air dry clay, textiles, recycled objects, metals and wood. Sizes range from 10cm to 50cm, and are mostly free standing.
Achieving a Textiles BA Hons and Postgraduate Diploma in tapestry weaving in 2001, I moved into small scale sculpture following a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, which specifically affects my hands, and so my artwork. I have to monitor the amount of time I can use them, but that’s fine, I’ll take that to be able to be creative.
